Euclid’s family is known throughout the Bjarmalands (JAR-MA-LANDS). Not for him, but for his grandmorther, Resu. She is famous, or infamous, for overthrowing the City of Disce. She established a new capital, Bjarma, and tried to spread technological and learning. Resu had a daughter, Tind, who took over authority after her. Tind had one child, Euclid. Even though his mother was the ruling authority of the Bjarmalands, Euclid was discarded to the kitchen staff at an early age because he was a boy. Tind was later ousted by Vindicta. Euclid was sent to the labor fields, the most common place for boys in the Bjarmalands. Euclid has been saved many times by his ingenuity and by his friendship with Sufi. Sufi often has a way to get Euclid out of work duty and off to explore.
